SILENCE IS SEXY
PALAZZO LUCARINI CONTEMPORARY 2022
A secular hymn to silence as an existential condition between sensuality and contemplation.
The idea stems from the observation that silence is also a spatial dimension, the most suitable for creativity. A situation, that is, somewhere between physical suspension, philosophical reflection and sensory stimulation.
A multimedia artist trained in painting, Nea Lindgrén, in the rooms of Palazzo Lucarini, articulates an episodic path, not a uniform narrative. In the exhibition we will find large canvases with tenuous and elusive iconography, environmental video installations and immersive sounds. These are fragments and constellations, an archipelago of perceptual experiences that find coherence in the atmosphere created by the color choice, set on low tones, glaucous and milky.
It is an invitation to visitors to break free from routine and habit, to devote themselves to a more attentive, introspective listening to the secret of existence. The suggestion to encounter a more personal and reflective level of awareness. In the artist's own words, "In this contemplation, I let associations and thoughts accompany the viewer, capture him, allowing the imprint of the world to become internal images, lights, colors, spaces, states of consciousness. A state of consciousness of the world, in which I offer viewers a space in which they can openly and freely contemplate and explore themselves, their own hidden layers."
